And in the world of entertainment and hospitality, turning a trickle of somewhat satisfied guests to a flood of happy park-goers who can’t wait for their next visit. In my current role as CEO of Bay Zero, Kuwait’s premier water theme park, big challenges are the order of the day. The thing that’s allowed me to thrive is my ability to step back, see the big picture, and then identify the opportunities to make things run better, both on the operational side and the guest-facing side. Like switching from paper ticketing to digital, reducing wait times and selling more tickets. Or introducing a new CRM that saves time and staff headaches. I also owe a lot of my effectiveness as a business leader to my MBA, where I specialized in dynamic pricing strategies for GCC theme parks. Before that, I spent many exciting and productive years in fashion and publishing. Working with prominent designers and for forward-thinking publications not only gave me an eye for quality and a taste for the imaginative, but it also gave me a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes planning and time-tested processes that makes truly ground-breaking work possible. Through all my roles, a common thread has always been the transformative power of teamwork — whether I was on the team or leading it.
